Health is in the Hands of the Beholder
I moved here to Florida from Georgia in 2005. My OB/GYN there had been my doctor since 1994, so of course she knew me and I felt very comfortable with her. I guess upon this writing, I now know why I long for her. I spent eleven years in her care. But my doctor in Georgia would address me with a smile and a warm sincere greeting. She would exam me and talk with me, not to me. After the examination, we would both go into her private office and actually sit down and talk. Even if I'd waited over two hours to see her, due to a couple of babies being ready to see the world, she'd still sit and talk with me. It might have been a little rushed, but she'd still take the time. So, I guess you could say that I'm spoiled. Spoiled or not, I really do miss her. In a sense, I guess you could say that I'm trying to replace her.
Now, Dr G and Dr L are both very nice, but there was still something missing. I realize that I have to take my time in getting to know them. I have to spend a number of years with them just as I did with my doctor in Georgia. I am sure over time, I will come to love my doctor here just as I did my doctor in Georgia. But the thing is this, my appointment with Dr L was at 3:00. When I'd gotten into the car to leave, the time was 3:48 and I wasn't seen at exactly 3:00. Now, for those who've never had an OB/GYN visit, it's not the most comfortable. First of all, you have to get entirely naked, and even though my doctor is female, she's still a total stranger who will be placing things inside of my body and touching me. So you can understand why you'd want a more personal approach. But, I feel upon the initial visit, the doctor should at least sit down with you and address any issues that are past, present, and future. Dr L didn't even ask me about birth control and whether I desired to have children. I mean, this is my health and she is my healthcare provider, so shouldn't she be providing me with the best possible healthcare that my money is paying her for? I understand that doctors have a lot of expenses, but they also have a lot more money in their bank accounts than I do. And the funny thing about this is the fact that I know my body better than she does. I know how my breasts feel and whether they're lumpy, smooth, heavier feeling than usual, and also if I've detected something that seems out of place. So when we visit our doctors, what are we really seeing them and paying them for? I can truly understand why some people don't go to doctors. They tend to have the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality. But, we hear reports each day about seeing your doctor to prevent disease and get treated for any medical issues you may have. But I wonder, how important is it that we see a doctor if there's nothing bothering us?
Upon my experiences and the experiences of others, I have been thinking a lot about our healthcare system. Of course we'd hate to think that it's only about the money, but the more I look around and think about things, the more it seems that we're just a dollar sign waiting to happen. Which brings me to the conclusion that, "health is in the hands of the beholder." This topic is somewhat broad and there are multiple topics in regards to different specialties in healthcare that I could write upon. I will be addressing other issues, such as how we can prevent disease by making better food choices in the very near future. But for now, I'll try to sum this up.
The bottom line is we are in control of our healthcare. We cannot rely upon any doctor to provide us with all of the information there is to prevent disease and to even learn of disease. With today's technology, there are too many resources at our disposal for us to remain ignorant of any issue. Another thing is, are we doing our best at taking good care of ourselves? I can honestly say that I don't practice self breast examination as I should. I don't eat the best diet either, so why would I expect my doctor to spend so much time on my body and me if I don't do it myself. And it's not because I'm paying her. Doctors have a huge responsibility, especially if they're the only doctor in a particular office. They've got to see everyone that walks into the door and with this being known, time is money, and each patient represents more money. A doctor explained to me that doctors who have office practices have to see a patient every 15 minutes. Times have changed and so has the responsibilities of our doctors. It's no longer just about the patient. It's about the mortgage on the building, the light bill, insurances, and staff salaries. How can we improve things? We need to take back the power that's been given to physicians for our care. We need to take a more active part in our own healthcare. There are a lot of issues behind the scenes that we are unaware of. At times, I wonder if doctors are there to treat, prevent or cure?
It may seem as if I'm contradicting myself, but there are two sides to every coin. Yes, I do feel the doctor should have taken more time with me, but I also understand why she didn't and maybe couldn't. But the big picture for me is that I need to do my best to prevent disease. I need to do my best to take proper care of my body. I should view my doctor visits as simple check-ups. I should go in with the knowledge and pride that my body is in great condition and she won't find anything wrong. I still feel she should've taken more time in getting to know me and talk with me in regards to any issues that I may have had. She could've at least asked me if there was anything that I needed to discuss. But also, I shouldn't look to be in her office for a lengthy period of time. I should be secure in myself and with myself to say "I really don't need to be here, because I'm fine and I've seen to it that I am." Your health and my health is truly in the hands of the beholder. You and I both hold the key to our own healthcare. Power is knowledge, and knowledge is the key to prevention, and prevention is the key to great healthcare. Will I go back to Dr L? I'll tell you what, we'll see how I feel about it next year. I want to have a good relationship with Dr L and I understand that it will take time, but it's more important to me to have an even better relationship with my own body and feel secure in the fact that I've taken good care of it and that 15 minutes with her is all that I need. Do I still long for my old doctor even though I only saw her once a year and for less than an hour, of course I do! What can I say, I love her and even when I would see her, my health was still in the hands of me, the beholder.
Thank you for taking to time to read my article. I look forward to sharing more words of wisdom. I will be hanging around Ezine Articles for a while. There are a lot of interesting topics I will be discussing.

Is IQ (Intelligence Quotient) The Product Of Inherited Knowledge And Acquired Knowledge?
What is IQ? IQ is the product of inherited knowledge and acquired knowledge.
What is inherited knowledge? Inherited knowledge is knowledge inherited from our parents, our ancestors and our Creator from our birthrights. This is the most wonderful gift we receive from our parents. We should be excited and feeling grateful that we have this inherited knowledge. All of us are born from the union of our mother and father and not cloned like a robot or machine. All of us inherit some of our ancestors' knowledge and skills and these are stored in our brain.
Our inherited knowledge stretches far into our great ancestors and from our Creator! Our Creator is the source of all knowledge and wisdom. We are humans, not animals. We have brains that can think well and evaluate. We are intellectually gifted in our own ways, though it varies. No two brains are identically alike. Each have our own abilities and capabilities, tapped and untapped.
All of us are so excited in the process of tapping all these abilities and capabilities. The best is that all tapped IQ can bring us more advantages than ever. All of us can possess this valuable Q, yes, an extremely wonderful asset that can move a mountain or fill up an ocean! One should never underestimate what our brains when tapped are capable of doing.
Thoughts once an imagination are creations of today! We can fly, we can swim, we can go to the end of the world, explore the four corners of the earth and go to the outer space. All of us are unique and special in our own ways. All of us inherited every possible thoughts and experiences. These are recorded inside our DNA cells. One should learn to tap this valuable knowledge through practise, meditation or quietly listening to our thoughts. Learn and master this skill of creative thinking.
Our acquired knowledge is knowledge that we obtain from external sources that start from the moment we are born till the day we breathe our last. Learning is a lifelong process, maturing into our different stages of life. Acquired knowledge can be from abundant sources, like schools, institutes, universities, mass media, all articles printed or written or from the net. We have spent so much time, so much money and so much effort in our lives to add into our inherited knowledge from all possible reliable sources. Acquiring knowledge is an extremely big and wide field! It covers all possible languages all over the word and no libraries are big enough to fill in written articles and notes.
That is why all of us are so excited about being learned, and will continue to learn.... to master.... to acquire those skills and knowledge that can upgrade us as a better intellect. IQ, be it inherited or acquired combined are well established now. Many are now equipped with every possible certificates depicting the degree or height of one's intelligence.
Our brain....what contains in our brain is what makes the difference. Does it end here? What else do we not know? What else do we want? How far can we go? Where to learn? What can we get?
IQ is also a Q that sometimes make some learned egoist and proud of their certificates. Being equipped with IQ, but without EQ or MQ or just any other Qs, he/she is also considered as a total failure! Pride will go for a fall, that is what we always describe their failure. It is not that one should listen just to our brain with its domineering IQ that we follow without applying inner conscience.
There are actually many topics to be shared on how to tap our IQ, how to use our IQ productively and how to maximize our potentials of all these wonderful Qs. You can read more articles at http://ezine-articles.org/ezinearticles/alternative-health/.

Robert Allen's Expert Knowledge and Multiple Streams of Income
Why is Robert Allen's expert knowledge so sought after?
There are very few individuals that possess successful backgrounds in multiple areas of business. Typically, a marketer stays within the realm of marketing, a real estate enthusiast competes in the real estate market, etc. Robert Allen is a businessman and author who has a multi-faceted and highly successful career. Mr. Allen possesses over 20 years of experience in various entrepreneurial areas of business. He has written many books on his experiences and has an uncanny ability to communicate in simple and effective terms, that provide an overview of the avenues in which individuals can create income for themselves.
Allen's approach to sharing his expert knowledge is sincere. This is apparent in his writings as he continually mentions that individuals must create multiple income streams for themselves and their family, but that this should not be at the expense of one's happiness. Furthermore, he illustrates exactly how one can go about creating income streams, in addition to working at a job that they actually enjoy and get fulfillment.
What is Multiple Steams of Income?
Multiple Streams of Income is Robert Allen's most popular book. This work focuses on bringing wealth into one's life via multiple income streams. Furthermore, that these incomes streams would be most efficient if the income derived is, or eventually becomes, residual meaning long term and fairly secure. The book is broken up into chapters that deal with money management, investment opportunities including the stock market, real estate opportunities, network marketing and internet marketing. Multiple Streams of Income, for download, is available as well. The work is almost 10 years old however, the principles and strategies are still very much effective. Entrepreneurs and established business people continue to seek Robert Allen's best tips for income streams and information on how exactly to implement them correctly.
Robert Allen's ability to project future money making opportunities is impressive as well. It is almost as if through some sort of osmosis, Allen can feel what specific areas of business will do well and what areas have potential to fail. It is interesting that, when commenting on internet marketing in the Multiple Streams of Income book, he suggests (keep in mind this is 10 years ago) that online marketing is "the ultimate money machine".
What separates Allen's approach to teaching from other authors?
In Allen's books there are many interesting stories that he tells that are part of his past experiences and also relate to the given topic of each chapter. For example, in his book "Nothing Down" which focuses on real estate investing, Mr. Allen tells many stories that help to build the concepts that are behind smart real estate investments. Furthermore, he draws from his experiences and discusses in detail more than 10 strategies that he has implemented successfully himself.
Information and expert knowledge is not difficult to find in this day in age, even my seven year old son tells me to simply "Google it" whenever we need an answer to something. However, expert knowledge that is delivered with the degree of class and sincerity that Allen exemplifies is often sought out, but rarely found.
"This is my hope for you: a life overflowing with abundance of all kinds - multiple streams of income, joyful relationships, boundless energy and health, a quick mind, and a strong spirit." - Robert G. Allen

Electronic Medical Records Can Benefit Your Medical Practice and Save You Money!
Everyone's talking about "going green" these days and the medical field is no exception. One way medical, dental, and chiropractic offices are contributing to the cause and saving time and money
simultaneously, is the adoption of the Electronic Medical Record.
At present time, only about 15-20% of physicians, dentists, and chiropractors have taken the leap to convert their paper charts to Electronic Medical Record software. The offices that already have experience with the EMR have no doubt about it's time saving features and cost saving benefits. Not to mention the positive affect it has on the environmental front by cutting down on paper usage, which saves many trees every day.
To help jump start the transition from paper records to EMRs, the Obama Administration has signed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which includes funds to give medical offices a monetary incentive to convert from paper to electronic health record software. In order to collect the funds, medical offices not only have to convert to the EMR, they have to actually use it in a "meaningful way". This stipulation is a good thing, meaning that EMR technology is advancing in leaps and bounds to allow even the most non-technical staff to succeed in the transition to electronic medical records. Also, with this race to build the best EMR, the competitive market is bringing the price of the software down to an affordable level.
Other benefits of the EMR is that it saves medical offices the "green" while benefiting the environment.
• The cost of reams and reams of paper suddenly disappears. As well as toner and copier maintenance.
• Printing costs of encounter, history, registration, and other forms go away; also, the need to constantly add, change, and delete codes and update printed templates becomes a thing of the past.
• The cost of labor decreases because there is no pulling charts, filing or re-filing of charts, no disassembly of charts for copying, and no transcription costs.
• Storage of charts becomes a non-issue, no more paying for offsite storage, retrieval, or record destruction.
Although these are not the only cost saving benefits that can be realized by implementation of an EMR, they are certainly enough to motivate any medical office to seriously consider the advantages of converting their charts to electronic format.
Finding the right system for your practice will most likely take months or maybe years, so even if you are not considering implementation of an EMR in the very near future, it is still not too soon to start comparing features and prices. The more knowledge you have and the more comfortable you become with the EMR concept will give you the confidence to make the right choice.

7 Daily Habits That Can Bring You Closer to Health and Wealth
There are good and bad habits that we possess in our lives. You may have some good habits which can bring you closer to health and wealth. Knowledge can be power but applied knowledge is true power. You may have the knowledge of building good and positive habits that can help you to live long but only if you apply them. Same is going to be here. I am going to share 7 daily habits that can bring you closer to health and wealth in life. Why only 7 habits? For I do not wish to make it complicated for you to apply them. I will share some simple habits which can give fruitful results to you. Here We Go...
1. Take your breakfast daily.
This is very important for your health if you wish to live long. Many are skipping their meals especially their breakfast and they are not aware of it's dangers and consequences. Honestly it can be fatal for you. Skipping breakfast can be one of the cause for stomach cancer. What will happen if you spend some time taking your breakfast which can add extra years of life? Think of it....
2. Smile to strangers.
A very honest smile is like a boomerang. It will return to you faster than you expected. The effect also will be magnificent. Have you ever went through this? You may be walking in a park and when a stranger smiles at you, you cannot resist that smile and you will smile back immediately. You will feel quite different after doing that. That is the power of it. Learn to give away or share your happiness for you will gain them in thousand fold...
3. Write and accomplish daily goals.
Goals are very important in our lives. Do you have a specific goal to be achieved in your life? Do you know how to set big goals? It is very important for you to have such goals for your financial future. There is nothing wrong in admitting that we are striving towards money and happiness for we are putting our effort to achieve them. I personally write my daily five goals to accomplish in a day which can help to bring me towards my ultimate goal. Goal setting can be fun and it is truly important. Work on that my friend.
4. Give away your money to others.
This is important for your financial success. You may think what the crap I am talking about but listen to this carefully....Every single cents that you give away will return to you in thousand fold. Warning! Listen completely . It will happen only if you do it honestly. Be kind naturally and donate money to someone without expecting the return of it. We are looking for kind person here. Are you there?
5. Show your love to your family.
Showing love is very important than asking for them. What you give is what you will get. A very rich businessman is getting money based from the service that he offer. When you give love to your family that is what will be given back to you whether by your family members or not but The Universe will give it to you. If you have never hugged your parents or siblings, please do so NOW! You will see the change in you. You can feel a much healthier person in you.
6. Read a lot of financial success books.
Reading can provide you great knowledge. Reading financial success books will be very helpful during the recession. You had enough of knowledge and it is time for you to apply them. Say a very long goodbye to your procrastination habit and give a warm sweet welcome to ACTION! Take actions to read and apply financial knowledge. Learn how to create passive income businesses. The more money that you have the more good you can do. Make money my friend.
7. Say Thank You to this World.
Have you ever jumped out of your bed and shout like Tarzan in movies to give thanks for the sweet day ? I do it daily whether you believe me or not. I will shout, ' Thank You Thank You Thank You Universe ( you can take it as God ) for giving me massive energy, Health and Wealth to live the Life that I desired! THANK YOU! ' I promise that I would feel as I am born again in this world. Please try this only once and you can see the changes. Do not worry about your family members for usually I will not bother about anything while doing that. Nothing CAN STOP ME.
Remember that Ideas and Knowledge will work for you, only when you work on them......
I Wish You Happiness and Love,
